April’s Theme is Earth and Renewal

Little darling, it’s been long cold lonely winter. Little darling, it feels like years since it’s been here. Here comes the sun. Here comes the sun …   -George Harrison

For High Schoolers & Adults of All Ages: UU College of Social Justice

The UU College of Social Justice was launched in June 2012 to help Unitarian Universalists deepen and sustain the work of justice in their congregations and communities.

One way to accomplish this is through experiential learning: programs that help you

cross boundaries

gain insight

and

imagine new ways

to bring your faith together with a yearning to make a difference in the world.

 In the coming year, UUCSJ will offer

  • two Youth      Justice Trainings for high school youth (Boston and New Orleans);
  • a      youth-focused Civil Rights Pilgrimage;
  • young adult      summer internships with UUA and UUSC partners in the US and overseas; and
  • experiential      learning journeys for adults of all ages to destinations within the US and      abroad.

Woven through each of these programs is a curriculum designed to help us engage our own faith more authentically as we learn how to harness ourselves to the justice work that calls us.
