Weekly Notes- April 28, 2015

Last week we explored the idea that everyone is a teacher! Next week, we’ll be creating a storytelling quilt.

RE Class Information and Guide Schedule for 5/3:

Students begin in room 101/103. We will be painting/decorating pots for the plant sale. We welcome anyone else who would enjoy helping out.

  • The May birthday celebration is May 24th. Join us in the fellowship hall following service for cake.
  • Interested in becoming a guide, shadow, sub, or volunteer? Have a child in RE and want to find out more about the program? Are you a guide who wants to explore interesting and relevant topics for the RE classroom? If so, one or more of these sessions may be for you. Childcare will be provided!

  • Our next FUNdraiser is Thursday, April 23rd from 4:00-9:00pm at Lala Gallery. Please RSVP at 414-7962 by April 20th. You may choose to design a flowerpot or mug for $18 per person. The UU will receive 30% of the amount raised. You may also bring food/beverages.
  • We are collecting donations for the Blue Buckets campaign to help Kenya protect their water supply. Our congregational goal is $150. Look for the blue bucket at the RE table to make a donation. The last day to make a donation is April 26th.

Weekly Notes- April 14, 2015

Last week Kathy led a spirit circle on the four elements (earth, wind, air, and fire) and we got to see how everything was connected in a fun, web making activity for TFAA. Next week, we’ll explore the phrase, “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.”

Weekly Notes- April 7, 2015

Last week, we learned about the history of Easter and had an Easter egg hunt. The students traded in eggs for prizes and puzzles on the 7 principles of the UU church. Next week, we’ll have our monthly “Green Sanctuary” spirit circle. The topic is trees and the four elements and Kathy Willowoode will be leading.
