  • January 10th– RE newspaper meeting from 11:45-12:15 in room 101/103
  • January 10th– first OWL session for prek-1st grade from 12:45-2:00 in room 104
  • I am thrilled to announce that we will be offering OWL to grades prek-1st (ages 4-6) and grades 4-6 (ages 9-12) during the spring 2016 semester. OWL (Our Whole Lives) is a values-based curriculum that equips participants with accurate and age-appropriate information about the human body and helps participants to clarify their values, build interpersonal skills, and understand the spiritual, emotional, and social aspects of sexuality.
    • Prek-1st grade OWL: This program supports parents in educating children about birth, babies, bodies, and families. Parent orientation is January 3rd from 12:45-2:00.
    • 4th-6th grade OWL: This program is designed for learning about and discussing the physical and emotional changes of puberty. Participants will examine topics such as values and sexuality, communication, and decision-making. Parent orientation is April 3rd from 12:45-2:00.

Last week we performed our Dr. Who themed winter holiday program celebrating religions and customs from around the world and through time. Next week there will be no RE classes and Larry Guentert will be doing a special service on music. Weekly Notes- December 7, 2015

Last week we began practice for the upcoming holiday program and held the 2nd annual Giving Tree fundraiser to raise money to buy toys for the LUM Christmas Jubilee. Thanks to everyone’s support, we raised over $320 and had a fantastic time! I would like to give a special thank you to all the volunteers who helped make the event a success.
