Last week we created a heritage altar, listened to the Strolling Singers, and learned about connections with our world family. Next week we’ll begin our unit on mindfulness.

  • March 6th– Yoga Fundraiser at 1pm in room 101. The cost is $10. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the UUCTC fundraising efforts. This class is open to children and adults (ages 5+). Please bring a yoga mat.
  • March 13th– RE volunteer meeting from 9:45-10:15 in room 104 and RE newspaper meeting from 11:45-12:15 in room 101
  • March 25th– Families with Kids’ Movie Night
  • I am thrilled to announce that we will be offering OWL to grades 4-6 (ages 9-12) starting with a parent orientation on April 3rd from 12:45-2:00pm. Please contact drenicolerice@gmail.com for more information or to register your child. OWL (Our Whole Lives) is a values-based curriculum that equips participants with accurate and age-appropriate information about the human body and helps participants to clarify their values, build interpersonal skills, and understand the spiritual, emotional, and social aspects of sexuality. The 4th-6th grade program is designed for learning about and discussing the physical and emotional changes of puberty. Participants will examine topics such as values and sexuality, communication, and decision-making.

Last week we heard some amazing drumming from CircAfrique, a local percussion group, and discussed how music is universal. The 1st-3rd graders visited the West Lafayette fire station to deliver treats thanking them for their service to the community. Next week, we’ll learn about gratitude.
