Who? Anyone is eligible to participate as long as you meet these requirements and regularly attend UUCTC:

Youth (between the ages of 4 and 31)

  • Youth must commit to delivering one of the following options to your mystery pal on Sundays. You may choose to have someone deliver for you such as a friend or the DRE. Deliveries can also be left in the numbered envelopes on the corresponding board in the fellowship hall or DRE office.)
    • writing or dictating a letter
    • drawing a picture
    • leaving a homemade item/small gift or token
  • Must commit to attending the mystery pal reveal celebration on Sunday, February 26th

Youthful Adults (ages 32-119)

  • Youthful adults must commit to delivering one of the following options to your mystery pal on Sundays. You may choose to have someone deliver for you such as a friend or the DRE. Deliveries can also be left in the numbered envelopes on the corresponding board in the fellowship hall or DRE office.)
    • writing or dictating a letter
    • drawing a picture
    • leaving a homemade item/small gift or token
  • Must commit to attending the mystery pal reveal celebration on Sunday, February 26th

Why? This is a program to match youth and adults of all ages so that we, as a congregation, can make connections, learn more about each other, and support intergenerational community.

When? In order to participate, you must sign up by Sunday, January 29th and the mystery pal reveal celebration will be take place in the fellowship hall following service on February 26th.

Rules:

  1. If you meet the participation requirements, please fill out the information at the bottom of this sheet and turn in to the DRE, Nicole Rice, via e-mail (drenicolerice@gmail.com) or in the DRE mailbox. All information must be turned in by Sunday, January 29th in order to participate.
  2. You will be assigned a number that corresponds with an envelope on the large orange bulletin boards in the fellowship hall. Your number is the same as that of your youth/youthful adult counterpart. You can use these envelopes to leave and receive letters, drawings, small gifts, etc. If your item is too big to fit in an envelope, please get the DRE to deliver the item by labeling with the following information. (Please note that I will be absent on 2/19 and unable to deliver items for you on that date.):
    1. Deliver to: youth or youthful adult
    2. Number
  3. Calendar and Suggested Items:
    1. January 29th– must have signed up for the program with the DRE
    2. February 5th– introduction letter
    3. February 12th– response letter
    4. February 19th– a Valentine card or picture
    5. February 26th– final reveal- You may choose to bring a small gift or other token. We will celebrate by sharing a snack together and getting to know each other better. Special treats provided by the DRE!!!
